IMPORTANT – Getting the Correct Information to the Police. Witnesses and Pictures at the scene of the accident.
When you are involved in a motor vehicle accident, you are probably not thinking about the importance of getting all of the details. Most people think if the accident is not their fault, that the police will get it correct on the police accident report. This is big mistake!!!
if you get into an accident and you are not at fault, you want to make sure to call the police. You can not rely on the other person’s statement or admission of guilt to you at the scene of The accident. I have seen may clients get burned by this. Don’t let this happen to you.
If there are witnesses, make sure you get their information and try to get them to say until the police come. Without having their information, they ale useless.
if possible take as may pictures as possible.
if the police report is not correct and you don’t have witness information, it will delay both your property damage claim and your injury claim. The other person’s insurance company will initially rely on what is said in the police report and what witnesses have to say.
If you or someone you know is involved in a motor vehicle accident, please follow this advice.
